2005 Events
2004 Events
This year we have been able to accomplish quite a bit. The biggest was Old Piney Road. This road had major
renovations done. Any of you who have traveled on it, can attest to the dire need of work. Drainage was added
in several spots and tar and chip was done. A MAJOR improvement to that road.
Another big project was tar and chip to the first 1/2 mile of both entrances. Due to the wear and tear, there
were many potholes to be filled in first and then a top coat of tar and chip.
Also done was an area of widening on Broadview. Due to erosion and wear and tear, there are areas that have become
too narrow to the point that only one car can pass at a time. We are working to fix some of these areas and have done
so to one spot this year.
And probably the most overdue of all--STREET SIGNS! Why it was never done by our predecessors, we don't know!
But, it is a very welcome addition to our development. It will be so much easier to give directions to others now
with this great improvement!
And, of course, there is always the much needed snowplowing. Mother Nature usually packs wintery punch and snowplowing
is always on the "to do" list!

Summer and Fall 2003
Road repair work on Broadview is beginning with pothole repair. Tar and chip is to follow in the months to follow.
Broadview is to be done first because it is the main road used by all property owners. Old Piney and Dew Drop are to
follow as finances allow. We will do what we can with what we have! Snowplowing this season cost quite a bit,
but we have been put back on PenDot's list for millings and hopefully that will allow us to do more on the shoestring budget!
The good news is that progress is being made. It is going to take time, please be patient, but it will happen.
It is happening!
Spring 2003
Onward to repairs! The winter brought on even more repairs to the already battered roads within the development.
Some emergency pothole repair was done early on to ease some of the problems. More intense efforts began in late April
to fix many of the worse ones on Broadview in preparation for tar and chip later on.
The annual meeting of the general membership took place at the JTHS on March 8th despite an extremely low turnout of
members. However, those that did come indicated approval at what has been done and that a good job had been done with
the snow plowing this year.
A prepared agenda was gone thru including secretary's report, treasurer's report, proposed budget and under new business
was road work, presentation of the new entrance signs, volunteers for committees, nomination of directors and the election
of officers, followed by a Q&A period. Matt Stinson, Karl Herman and Bonnie Hoffman were the only nominees for directors
and will now serve a 3 year term.
There were concerns raised regarding trees down. Property Owners are responsible for that maintenance as well as
maintenance to their road frontage. A member indicated that he had a dicussion with PPL and they told him
that they were planning on coming to our area in the spring to trim trees that affect their lines. One of our board
members volunteered help with trees that need to be cut from storm damage. Please call the GOE voicemail and someone
can be in touch to discuss if it is possible.
Road work was discussed with Broadview being first on the agenda because it impacts ALL property owners. Finances
will dictate how much and how far we can go, but we looking into and discussing Old Piney and Dew Drop repairs also.
Winter 2002
Snow, Snow, Snow--what more can be said! We were hammered this season and the costs to plow it exceeded $19,000.
The Christmas snowstorm was one of the worse in many, many years bringing down trees and lines.
October 2002
The tar and chip was completed in several areas along Broadview. The main targeted area was along Robinson's Creek,
which was in dire need, has been improved significantly!
Also done was the entry along 903 and several areas on that side.
Excavation for the mailboxes on the 903 entry has begun. There will be a one time fee of $100 to purchase one.
Interested parties should contact us via email or voicemail to obtain one. Surveying will be needed to determine where
one may be placed on the other side of our development. That is being pursued at this time.

Other Events
In the process of seeking a court injunction against Pocono Countryside for abandonment, they have decided to release
the deeds to the roads to Glen Onoko Estates Property Owners Association. In doing so, they have NOT been released
of any liability. However, releasing the roads gives Glen Onoko Estates the ability to start collecting dues and maintaining
the roads for this community. What it means to property owners here is that Pocono Countryside will no longer be involved
with anything pertaining to this development. All decisions will be made by this community and all fees collected
will be used solely for the purpose of improving and maintaining this community.
